Hi Friends!
Sorry I have been so bad at posting every day, sometimes at night I am just too exhausted. Yesterday (March 5, 2014) I woke up extremely early and headed to uni. I was on campus from 7:30am - 4:00pm, long long day. Nothing exciting happened until the walk home. As I mentioned earlier I NEEDED to get my eyebrows done so on the way home I stopped in the place I did a day earlier for a wax. This time they actually waxed them! The walk home from the salon is where my day turned crazy. The sky turned black and lightning bolts were striking. I was caught in a thunderstorm. Next thing I knew it was raining cats and dogs and everyone is running for their lives. I was only 3 minutes from home, had my sneakers on and a hood so I was able to tackle the walk (more like a sprint) through the rain, thunder and lightning protecting my laptop and notebooks which were in my bag. This is why I should invest in an umbrella. The storm that hit Sydney was one of the craziest storms it has ever had. Once I arrived home everything was normal until all the girls went out. Yet again, I was a big girl and decided not to go out because I wanted everything having to do with school and moving in situated before having a good time. After the girls went out, I showered, blow dried my hair and headed to bed. In the middle of sending a goodnight snap chat to my mom I heard a zapping noise and all of a sudden every light went out in the apartment. We had lost power. Imagine me, home alone in my apartment with no power and no friends. I WAS FREAKING OUT! Literally freaking out. I wanted to text the girls telling them what had happened but I realized that once the power goes off so does the wifi. To calm my nerves I closed my eyes and went to bed. Around 1:00-1:30 am I woke up and realized the lights were back on and I saw Nicole in the bed next to me. I had never been so happy to know we had power again. Other than that, the day was quite normal. Nicole, Kelley and I woke up today (March 6, 2013) pretty early and started our day. We had an un-normal amount of motivation so we headed to campus to meet with our study abroad advisor, went to Kmart to get cleaning supplies, came home to clean and organize the house and then went shopping for groceries. I bought so much stuff including Pink Milk and peanut butter and apples, it reminds me of the days at the Yankelitis house! On a more sour note, since our power went off, our AC is now broken and we are living in a sauna, thank god for sliding doors and screens to keep the bugs out but breeze in. Tonight we don't have much planned but finally cooking ourselves a good meal. I cannot wait to eat so much good scrumptious food. Hope all you sleep well, goodnight! Love ya :-*
