G'day mates!
I officially am a student at Sydney Uni! Today (March 3, 2014) was my first real day at uni. I woke bright and early because I wanted to look presentable, eat cause id be on campus all day, walk the 20 minute walk to uni and find my building with plenty of time. My first class which was Psychology 1001 was at 9 in the morning. I experienced my first ever lecture more than 60 people. Matter of fact this lecture had more than 600 students. Classes (lectures) here are only an hour long so they should be bareable all semester long. After Pyschology I rushed over to my Spanish tutorial. Tutorials are smaller group discussion like classes. My Spanish tutorial is twice a week for two hours with only 30 or less people in the class. Surprisingly enough, the time went quickly and I made my first two Australian friends, Kiara and Francesca. After Spanish I had to bolt out of class and power walk over to the quad, find my lecture hall and a seat in my Intro to Asian Culture class. With a last name like Chunglo you'd think I'd fit in perfectly but we're wrong. Myself and the other handful of white kids stick out like sore thumbs in the 200 person lecture. I am actually excited to take this class and learn more about the Asian culture...and maybe visit! Thankfully, I didn't have to run out of this class because I then had a two hour break before my last and final class of the day, Psychology 1001 again. Yes, again, why I have two lectures in one day is beyond me. I need to start packing a lunch or snack or become daring enough to walk to the food court for a snack. The only thing on my mind right now is getting my eyebrows done and the grilled chicken I'm going to eat for dinner as I sit waiting for my last lecture. I can already tell Mondays are going to be my busy day but hey, I'll take a busy Monday for only one class Thursday and none on Friday! Okay so I finally finished all my classes for the day. 2 psychology classes, 1 Spanish tutorial and 1 intro to Asian culture lecture..what a long day. The walk home was a whopping 35 minutes because of pedestrian traffic and traffic lights but I have never been so excited to lounge on my brown couch! As soon as I got home I ate an apple and peanut butter and started to thaw my chicken. Chicken and onions for dinner yay! As much as my mom cooked weird things that I would never dare put my fork near I could really go for some mom-made buff chick dip, pepperoni bread, slightly burnt hot dog, pasta salad, home made Mac n cheese, jalepeno dip, ziti..basically anything but that squash ravioli. On the other hand, tonight is a big night to go out in Sydney but I am resisting the urge and staying in and taking a relaxing night with some of the other girls who are not going out, look at me turning into a big girl. Okay so I just finished making dinner and I am never buying chicken again! There were way too many popped blood vessels or whatever the bloody parts are and way too many white things so I could only eat not even 1/4 of it. So I'm relying on my sautéed onion and ketchup to get me through the night. Make that two sautéed onions and ketchup. Love you!
