No Seagulls Please

G'night matey!

This morning, March 7, 2014, was yet again another early wake up call, although this wake up call was not dreaded by most. We set our alarms early enough so all 8 (Me, Nicole, Kelley, Alli, Drey, Samm, Sami and Jordan) of us would have plenty of time to get ready and meet downstairs in the lobby by 9. My room, Nicole Kelley and I, managed somehow to wake up before our alarms and have a sit down breakfast before getting ready for the beach. Today all the girls in our friend group decided to take the ferry over to Manly Beach, one of Australia's most desirable beaches. To get to the ferry station we decided to take the 555 bus which is a free shuttle over to Circle Quay to get the 9:30 ferry over to Manly. Unfortunately, our plan did not go as we expected. The bus was late and it was the middle of morning rush hour. After 25 minutes of being on the shuttle and only making it maybe a mile we all hopped out and walk (power walked/mildly sprinting) to the ferry wharf. Instead of catching the 9:30 ferry we managed to catch the 10:00 ferry, still making it to Manly early enough for a great beach day. The beach was beautiful, the water was clear and refreshing. As all of us are lying there soaking up the rays there comes along an Asian couple who insisted on feeding the seagulls. The literally took their fries out of their Hungry Jack's bag and started feeding the seagulls right in front of our tanning area. Not only did one seagull come but a flock of them surround our area. The couple thought this was an enjoyable moment because it was a photo shoot for both of them. I am so sorry for whatever social media site that had to post a picture of someone feeding almost 70 seagulls with a smile on their face. From then on out the day was smooth sailing, literally. We all soaked up more rays, the girls went for lunch, I wasn't too hungry so Sami and I watched the bags and then went to go split a bowl of wedges once everyone got back. By the time we were done our wedges it was almost 4 o'clock and started to get cloudy. At that moment we knew it was time to catch the next ferry home. The ferry ride home was quick and simple with beautiful views of downtown Sydney, The Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. When I got home to my apartment the first thing I did was hop right into the shower. A shower has never felt so good. After that, I figured it was time to feed my growling stomach. I made a chicken fajita with onions and jalepenos and hot sauce with a side caesar salad and an apple and peanut butter with a glass of pink milk. To say I was hungry is an understatement. The girls and I had a quiet afternoon/night until we all ate and showered. Tonight, although it is a Friday, we all stayed in, painted our nails and relaxed in sweats. Tomorrow is a big day for a lot of people. Nicole and Sam and several others from Bondi Junction are going to Future Music Festival, which is 10 hours long, Kelley and her friend are going to the Bruno Mars concert and Sami and I are headed to Bondi Beach to soak up more rays. The cleaning people and an inspection are coming to our room (we were for once actually noticed) tomorrow so they've asked us to leave, so to the beach we go! I'm loving life down in Australia, I wish you all could experience it with me. Love you all so much :-*
